Workshop on

Nanomechanical systems approaching the quantum regime

Collecting references online We are trying to collect all the references to the papers mentioned in talks and posters online. This will include mostly references to your own papers, but maybe also to some other relevant papers.

For this purpose, we intend to use the online bibliography tool cite-u-like. We have opened a group called Nanomechanics Workshop Munich 2008. There you will be able to add references online. These will contain links to the actual online version of the paper, title, authors, abstract, etc. You may also add 'reviews' or 'comments' on the papers, for everyone to see!

How to add references: First, choose 'Register' (top right corner of the screen) to set up an account, by choosing a username and password. The username will also be displayed for every reference you post, so it should be reasonable. This is a very simple procedure, that only takes at most three minutes of your time.

Next, go to the group Nanomechanics Workshop Munich 2008. There, click on the 'Info' tab and then 'Ask to join this group'. This will send a request to us (Florian) so we will enter you as a member of this group. The group is publicly viewable, but you have to ask to join, because we only want workshop participants to post references there.

Finally, after you have been added as a group member, post articles to this group by choosing the menu item 'Post article > Post article from web page'. There, you will be asked to enter the URL of some abstract page in an online journal. The program automatically recognizes and decomposes the information in many different journals (Phys. Rev., Nature, arXiv, etc.). You get a chance to attach some keywords (such as 'nanomechanics'), which are known as tags. Also, do not forget to select the 'Nanomechanics Workshop' group in the list of groups you post this paper to. Otherwise the reference would only appear in your own library. If you forgot to do that, just select the reference later and choose 'Copy' to also move it to the group.

Happy online-referencing!
